How To Get Started

For one on one career counseling/coaching, I suggest that we speak by phone to start so that I can answer any questions you might have about career counseling/coaching services.  Parents of high school aged students are welcome to come to the first session in order to meet me and hear me offer an overview (to both the student and the parent) of how the process will work.  After this initial introduction (which lasts about 15 minutes), I work with the student alone so that I can get to know him/her and begin the process of our work together.  The remaining sessions consist of my working one on one with your student.  Please be aware that this process will consist of activities that will be completed during sessions with me as well as at home in between sessions.  In other words, it will be important that your child is motivated about working with me in order for him/her to get the most out of the process.  Parents are encouraged to ask their child direct questions about their career planning and exploration activities.  I will also offer you an overview of the results and answer questions you may have about the career planning and college major decision making process.  Please be aware that I only work with teens and young adults in person so clients must live within driving distance of my practice in order to take advantage of this service.
